Latin American in Australia: Migration Briefings

The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies (ANCLAS) “Latin America in Australia” project was funded by DFAT’s Council on Latin America Relations (COALAR) to deliver a series of policy briefings on the migrant communities of 13 Latin American countries in Australia.

The Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, EL Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela each hosted a university student to undertake a research project on their migrant community as part of the Australian National Internships Program (ANIP). The briefings combine the latest demographic and socio-economic data to explore the dynamics of migration, experiences of integration, generational identities and trans-Pacific connections. 

These briefings received grant funding from the Council on Australia Latin America Relations of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and are available for download via the links below.
